Beachbum

1 oz. Dark rum 1 oz. Light rum 1 oz. Pineapple juice ¾ oz. Lime juice ½ oz. Apricot liqueur ½ oz. Orgeat Shake with ice and strain into an ice-filled tall glass, or your favorite tiki mug.

Toast and Marmalade

  1 1/2 oz. Bourbon 1/4 oz. Scotch 1/2 oz. Honey Syrup 1/2 oz. Lemon Juice 1 tsp. Marmalade (jam, yo) 2 dash Mole Bitters Vigorously shake all ingredients with ice; you may need a little extra violence to ensure that the marmalade is sufficiently incorporated in the mix. Strain into an ice-filled glass, and garnish with a sprig of thyme and/or an orange slice. 

City of Gold Sling

 1 1/2 oz. Gin 1/2 oz. Dark Rum 3/4 oz. Allspice Dram Dash Vanilla Extract 1 oz. Pineapple Juice 1/2 oz. Lime Juice 1/4 oz. Orgeat 1 dash Peychaud's Bitters Shake all ingredients with ice, then strain into a highball glass filled with ice cubes. Garnish with a pineapple wedge (optional). 

Pumpkin Pie Tai

1 ½ ounces Light Rum 1 ounce Lime Juice ¾ ounce Dry Curaçao ½ ounce Orgeat ¼ ounce Absinthe ½ teaspoon Pumpkin Pie Spice, plus extra pinch for garnish Mint sprig, for garnish In a cocktail shaker, combine all of the ingredients and fill with ice. Shake until chilled and strain into an ice-filled glass. Sprinkle a pinch of pumpkin spice on top, garnish with a mint sprig and serve. This is complex and delicious, or deliciously complex!

Hightail Out

Hightail Out 1 oz. Light Rum 1 oz. Dry Vermouth ½ oz. Lemon Juice ½ oz. Grapefruit Juice ½ oz. Simple Syrup ½ oz. Cinnamon Syrup 2 dashes Mole Bitters 2 oz. Bubbly Water Shake everything (except the sparkling water) with ice. Strain into an ice-filled glass and top with sparkling water. Garnish with a sprig of mint and a wheel or twist of lemon or grapefruit. Adjectives: Bright, lemonade, delightful  Have you seen the 2018 HBO documentary Diego Maradona (RIP)? It is quite good, and skinny, not-coked-out-yet Maradona looks a lot like Che Guevara with (probably) similar politics. As a sports-obsessed youngster in the '80s, I should have known a lot more about Maradona than I did, but I was (am) a hick and saw my first soccer game during the '94 World Cup, so I only know about him as a pudgy punchline. Sforzando

Sforzando 1 oz. Rye ¾ oz. Mezcal ½ oz. Dry Vermouth ½ oz. Benedictine 1 dash Mole Bitters Add all the ingredients to a mixing glass and fill with ice.  Stir, and strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with a slice of orange peel. It is an awful place where there are random explosions throughout the day and night that you will ask people who live there, "Hey, what the hell is with all the booming?" and they will pretend that they don't know what you're talking about possibly due to red-hot cartel action.
